Another Post About The Holidays

ANOTHER POST ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS I know . . . why will we put ourselves by way of this? I gained’t get into the entire War on Christmas factor or what that day does or doesn’t mean to me. Who cares, right? If you’re a Christian, properly, then Merry Christmas! If you aren’t, then Happy Holidays. If you aren’t excited about holidays at all then I want you a protected and happy day . . . right now! We should probably wish one another a Merry Every Day, shouldn’t we? But how about this, when it comes to worldbuilding for fantasy and science fiction: Holidays each spiritual and secular can give us a way of neighborhood, and typically, as with Thanksgiving or Independence Day, enable us to increase that community to all fellow citizens, regardless of religion. All I can ask is: What holidays do the folks of your world celebrate and how do they celebrate them, however most of all, why? The “why” behind Christmas might need gotten fuzzy for some of us, however that says one thing in regards to the world weâ €™ve built for ourselves right here, doesn’t it? So then why would the individuals of your fantasy world rejoice the Feast of Zornak? The Ascension of the Black Goat? Imperial Bathtub Day? Bathtub Day, you might ask? Though Christmas does tend to eclipse all else, how about a fast list, which I pulled from the website online Holidays Calendar, of thirty-five holidays, Christmas included, that we'd encounter this month: At least based on this record, today is not any holiday in any respect. In an attempt to rectify that I need to formally declare December 20 as This Blog Post Day. Today, we will come together as a neighborhood to honor this specific weblog submit. All joking apart, imagine my horror at discovering out I totally missed Day of the Ninja! Okay, kinda hard to place that on the identical footing as Christmas or the Synaxis of the Mother of God, but I guess Ninjas want love too. What am I even talking about? â€"Philip Athans About Philip Athans I imagine the standard technique of celebrating This Blog Post Day involves merlot, chocolate cake, and an hour of silence in a heat bath. I know a sure vacation THIS overworked mother plans to celebrate today! Fill in your particulars below or click on an icon to log in:
